Owls Shutout NCU in Closely Fought Battle

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.  – Both teams took 15 shots but Oregon Tech was the only team to find the back of the net, defeating Northwest Christian University 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's soccer action.

The game remained scoreless for 70 minutes before the Owls finally broke through. Rey Chavolla took a combo pass off a cross in the corner and fired home the game winner from just two yards out.

It would be Chavolla adding the insurance goal in the 87th minute off a clean pass from Ashton Betts. It was also the second assist of the game for Betts.

Erik Carrazco picked up six saves as he faced eight shots-on-goal between the pipes. Tanner Lee made three saves to register the shutout victory for OIT.

Northwest Christian (3-8-2, 1-6-2 CCC) will be back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Evergreen State College at 6:00 pm.
