Concordia Take 4-0 Victory

PORTLAND, Ore.  – Three second-half goals blew open a close game as the Northwest Christian University men's soccer team fell to #14 Concordia on Saturday afternoon, 4-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action at Delta Park.

Concordia out-shot the Beacons 20-10 and had a 9-3 edge in shots on goal. The aggressive style of play was relentless as the Cavaliers were forced into 13 offsides penalties in the game.

The Cavs got on the board with the eventual game-winner in the 12th minute when Radcliffe McDougald found reigning CCC Player of the Week Jared Brace with a 25-yard pass. Brace then put it home from 18-yards out into the far post.

Concordia wasted little time after the intermission, scoring just 36 seconds into the period. Jared Brace made a shot which was deflected back to Facundo DiPascuale for the finish. Just two minutes later, Septi Danciu got on the board with an unassisted goal, taking the ball on the left side and firing from 15-yards out into the opposite corner of the net.

Danciu added the final insurance goal in the 57th minute off a double-assist from Facundo DiPascuale and Nate Boatright.

Concordia (12-1, 8-1 CCC) got the shutout effort between the pipes from Cole Dahle and Scott Gross. Dahle played 80 minutes and registered three saves. For the Beacons, Nick Kratzke made two saves in 67 minutes of work and Erik Carrazco made three saves over the final 23 minutes.
