Heath Alexander became the third head coach for the women's basketball team entering the 2014-2015 season.

During his first three seasons, Alexander has guided the Beacons to unprecedented heights with three straight playoff appearances including two trips to the CCC semifinals.

In his first year he led the team to  their first ever Cascade Collegiate Conference playoff game, defeating rival Corban University on the road to advance to the semifinals. Year two saw even more improvement as the Beacons won a school-record 19 games, took fourth-place in the CCC, and hosted a playoff game for the first time, again defeating Corban to advance to the semifinals.

Prior to his first head coaching appointment at NCU, Alexander had ten years of experience as an assistant coach and recruiter at a number of NCAA Division I institutions.

Most recently, Alexander served four years as an assistant with the Weber State University women's basketball team where he was the lead recruiter. He was also heavily involved with player development and scouting efforts. Prior to Weber State, Alexander was at Colorado State University for two seasons where he was also in charge of local and national recruiting.

Alexander has strong ties to the Willamette Valley. His first collegiate coaching job was at Oregon State University under head coach Judy Spoelstra. After one year as the Director of Basketball Operations, Alexander was elevated to an assistant coach position which he held for three seasons. During his tenure the Beavers advanced to back-to-back Women's NIT appearances.

Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Movement from the University of Oregon, where he served as a manager with the men's basketball team for four years. Alexander also taught and helped coach basketball at Marist High School from 1998-2001.

Alexander is married to Andrea Alexander and they have two boys, Reece and Nolan.
